Spotted Bowerbird
Photographs of Spotted Bowerbird by Bill Harris
These birds are generally active, and though often shy, they can be tame near human habitation. Their bower is a distinctive avenue-bower, which is typically built under a shrub and is often decorated with whitish, green, red or shiny objects, including bones, snail shells and berries, often including metallic and glass objects. They are found through large areas of outback Queensland and NSW, including coastal areas in Queensland.
